Services

Four things I build, in detail.

Marketing sites, web applications, custom software, and the hosting to keep any of it running. Here is what each one actually covers, and a live example of it.

01

Websites & E-Commerce

A site built around how your business actually gets work — not a theme with your logo dropped into it. Most of these exist to make the phone ring, so that is what they are designed to do.

  • Custom design, built to your brand rather than a template
  • Responsive across phone, tablet and desktop
  • Contact forms wired to your inbox
  • On-page SEO and meta tags so search engines and link previews read correctly
  • Product catalogues, carts and checkout when you need to sell

Live example: After Hours Repair — a mobile repair company's site, built to drive calls and texts.

02

Web Applications & Tools

When a website is not enough — something with real logic behind it. Accounts, data, rules, and screens that do work rather than just describe it.

  • User accounts, logins, roles and permissions
  • Dashboards and reporting over your own data
  • Calculators, booking systems and internal tools
  • Interactive reference tools and data-driven interfaces
  • Subscriptions and billing when it needs to charge — see SaaS

Live examples: Summoner Intel, a matchup analysis platform with accounts, and Escape From Maps, an interactive map reference.

03

Custom Software

Software that runs on a machine rather than in a browser, for the times that is genuinely the right answer — a locked-down computer, no internet, or a process that has to be enforced rather than suggested.

  • Windows desktop applications
  • Offline-first tools with a local database
  • Rule engines that enforce a process instead of trusting a spreadsheet
  • Audit trails, so decisions can be defended later
  • Per-account logins and licensing where it needs them
  • Automation scripts for work being done by hand today

Shipping product: The Stick List — a licensed overtime call-list application with a full audit trail.

04

Hosting & Maintenance

Somebody has to keep it online. I host what I build, on a server I run and maintain — and I will take over a site somebody else built, too.

  • Fast hosting with SSL set up and renewed
  • Security and dependency updates
  • Regular backups and uptime monitoring
  • Small content edits — text, photos, hours, prices
  • Fixing anything that breaks in what I built

Pricing: from $20/mo — see the full breakdown of what maintenance does and does not cover.

How a project runs

Four steps, and you talk to me at every one.

There is no account manager in the middle and nothing gets handed to someone else halfway through. You explain the problem once, to the person who is going to build the solution.

Most standard business sites run one to two weeks from the point where the content and the requirements are clear. Bigger applications get a timeline with the quote rather than a guess up front.

Not sure which one you need?

Describe the problem rather than the solution — working out which of these fits is my job, not yours.
