The fine print, in plain language

What "maintenance" actually covers

Plenty of people sell maintenance without ever saying what it is. Here it is.

Included

  • Security and dependency updates
  • Regular backups
  • Uptime monitoring
  • SSL certificate renewal
  • Small content edits — text, photos, hours, prices
  • Fixing anything that breaks in what I built

Quoted separately

  • New pages or new features
  • A redesign of the existing site
  • E-commerce or payment processing
  • Third-party services with their own fees
  • Your domain registration — included on the monthly plan, otherwise yours
  • Writing your content or supplying stock photography

Beyond a standard site

Bigger builds are quoted individually

The prices above cover marketing and business websites. These take real scoping, so they get a real quote.

E-Commerce

Product catalogues, carts, and payment processing. Priced on how many products you carry and how much of the checkout needs to be custom.

Web Applications

Dashboards, calculators, booking systems, and internal tools with real logic behind them — the kind of thing a website can't do on its own.

Custom Software

Desktop applications, automation scripts, and bespoke tools built to solve one specific problem in your business.

Integrations

Connecting your site to the systems you already use, or automating a process you are currently doing by hand.

Questions

Straight answers

Do I own my website?

Either way, yes. With the one-time build the finished files are yours to keep from day one, and you can host them anywhere you like.

On the monthly plan the site stays hosted and maintained by me while you are on it, and after six months of payments it is yours outright. From there it is your call: I can hand over the files and you take it elsewhere, or you can carry on hosting with me. At the starting prices those six months come to the same total as the one-time build, so you end up in the same place either way — you have just spread the cost out to get there.

What counts as a "small content edit"?

Swapping text, replacing a photo, updating your hours, changing a price — the kind of change that takes minutes, not a rebuild. New pages and new features are quoted separately so you're never surprised by an invoice.

How long does a project take?

A standard business site is usually one to two weeks from the point where I have your content and a clear picture of what you need. Bigger applications depend entirely on scope, and I'll give you a timeline with the quote.

Are there setup fees or hidden costs?

No setup fee. On the monthly plan your domain is included. On a one-time build the domain is yours to register in your own name, usually about $10–15 a year. Anything else that would cost money gets raised before the work starts, not after.

Do I have to be local?

No. Everything is done remotely, and it works the same whether you're down the road or across the country.

Why is this cheaper than the quotes I've been getting?

Because there's no agency around it. No account managers, no sales team, no office — one developer with low overhead, still building out a portfolio. The startup pricing is a real discount and it's locked for six months.

Not sure which one fits?

Tell me what you're trying to build and I'll tell you what it would actually cost — free, and with no pressure attached.
