A website for dog groomers that answers the texts before they come in

Prices by size and coat, the vaccinations you need, what happens with a matted coat or a dog who has bitten. Owners want all of it before they book. Put it on the page and they turn up already knowing.

The questions you answer every week

Every groomer gets the same handful of texts. How much for my dog? How long does it take? Do you need his shots? He’s a bit matted, is that OK? She snapped at the last groomer, will you still see her?

Each of those is a person who nearly booked. Some of them wait for your reply. Some of them text the next groomer on the list while they’re waiting.

A groomer’s site has one main job: answer those questions before anybody has to ask, so the text you do get says “Can I bring Bella in Thursday?” and not “How much?”

Prices by size and coat

A single “from $40” line tells an owner nothing; they know their dog is not the $40 dog. Put up the sheet you already quote from, laid out so they can find their own dog on it.

On ILY Pets that’s four sizes by weight:

The four sizes on ILY Pets’ price sheet
SizeWeight
Small5 to 20 lbs
Medium21 to 60 lbs
Large61 to 100 lbs
Extra large100+ lbs

Then five services, each priced for all four sizes, with the baths split into short coat and long. A full groom there runs $80 for a small dog up to $140 for an extra large one. Every service a matted coat could change carries one line saying there may be an extra fee, and her FAQ says she’ll talk to the owner before she does anything. That line saves an argument at pickup.

The sheet also says how long each groom takes, from an hour and a half for a small dog up to five hours for an extra large one. An owner who knows they’re giving up the afternoon books the afternoon.

Vaccinations, written down once

If you board or do daycare, owners need your vaccine list before they can book, and most of them have to go and find the paperwork. Put the list on the page with what form you’ll accept it in.

ILY Pets lists rabies, DHPP, Bordetella and a negative heartworm test, and says a photo of the vet’s paperwork is enough, so nobody has to call to ask.

The awkward questions

Owners are slowest to bring up matting, nerves and biting, because typing “my dog bites” to a stranger feels like asking to be turned away.

On ILY Pets the enquiry form asks “Has your dog ever bitten, or found grooming hard?” as a dropdown, so owners can pick an answer they would never type out. Her FAQ then says what she does about it, in her own words, so the owner of a nervous dog reads the answer before they decide whether to ask.

The form also asks the dog’s breed and coat, so an enquiry lands in her inbox with what she needs to quote already filled in.

ILY Pets, a groomer’s site I built

What it costs.

Same prices as everyone else, and the founding offer applies: 6 of 10 founding spots left. Your price is locked for 12 months, with no minimum term.

You pay nothing until the site is built and you’ve looked it over. If you’re not happy with it, you owe nothing. If you are, you get an invoice and pay by card.

When the founding spots are gone, the offer comes down and prices go back to regular. You can still get a quote, just not at the founding price.

How to start

  1. Tell me about the business

A call or a few texts. Send your price sheet as it is, even a photo of the one taped up by the table, plus your vaccine rules and whatever you say when someone asks about matting or bites.

  2. I build it

Most sites are done in one to two weeks once I have your info and photos.

  3. You look it over

Changes until you’re happy, with no set number of rounds.

  4. You pay, and it goes live

I email an invoice you can pay by card, and your site launches.

I write the words. You tell me what owners always ask, and you correct what I get wrong. I work with groomers anywhere in the US, by phone, text and email.

Questions a groomer will ask

I take bookings through an app. Does the site replace it?

It doesn’t have to. If you already take bookings through an app, I can connect your site to it, so the book button goes straight there. If you’d rather have booking built into the site itself, I can build that too.

I mostly get clients from Instagram. Why bother?

Keep the Instagram. Plenty of owners search dog groomer near me on their phone and never see your grid. The site is where they land, and it can hold your prices and your vaccine list where a post can’t.

Can I change my prices myself?

On the monthly plan you text me the change and I make it. Small edits like prices and hours are included.

Do you only do groomers?

No. I build for service businesses in general. ILY Pets is the grooming site I can show you.
