My own business · Mobile repair, southeast NY
This one's mine. It fixes cars, equipment and appliances in the customer's driveway on evenings and weekends, and I built its site before I built anyone else's. The page checks the clock against real service hours, so somebody looking at 8pm is told whether I'm available without having to ask.

I've been building websites for five years, and I keep my client list small on purpose. That way nobody gets lost in the pile.
When you reach out, you're talking to the person who builds your site. A year from now, when you need a change, you're still talking to me, and I already know how your site works because I built it.
Agencies charge more because you're paying for salespeople, account managers, and office rent. With me, you're paying for your website.
I also run a mobile repair business, After Hours Repair, so I know what it's like to be the one doing the work and answering the phone at 8pm. I built that site for myself first.
How it works
A quick call or a few texts about what you do, where you work, and what isn't working. You don't need to know anything about websites.
Most sites are done in one to two weeks once I have your info and photos.
You get two rounds of changes, so it ends up the way you want it.
I email an invoice you can pay by card, and your site launches. On a monthly plan, I keep it running from there.
Beyond websites
Some businesses outgrow spreadsheets and sticky notes. I also build custom software and web apps, like an operations dashboard to track jobs and customers, a booking system, or an internal tool built around how you already work. I run my own business on a dashboard I built.
Fair questions
There isn't one. I build your site, you look it over, and you only pay if you're happy with it. I'd rather let the work do the convincing than ask you to trust a sales pitch.
Websites start at $349 during founding pricing, or $75 a month with hosting included. For a lot of service businesses, one new job covers it.
Word of mouth is great, and a website makes it work harder. When someone recommends you, the first thing their friend does is look you up. A good site turns “my buddy used this guy” into a phone call.
Keep the Facebook page. But plenty of customers aren't on Facebook, and it usually isn't what comes up when someone searches for your trade in your town. A website is yours, and it's built to be found.
You can, and some people do. Just ask yourself if you want to spend your evenings dragging boxes around, and whether anyone will find it on Google when you're done. I handle the build, the SEO, and the upkeep so you can stay on the job.
You won't need much: a short conversation, some photos of your work, and a look at the site before it goes live. I take care of the rest.
With a one-time build, you own the site from day one. On the monthly plan, once you've paid enough to cover the build, the files are yours to take anywhere. I'll give you that number before we start.
I do. You tell me what you do, who you do it for and what people always ask you, and I write the pages from that. You read them and tell me what's wrong. Nobody has ever had to hand me finished copy, and most people find the conversation easier than they expected, because it's just their own job explained back to them.
